PRESENTATION.
Painter, sculptor, weaver, engraver:
Her attraction to the visual arts goes back to her childhood. Everything is a pretext for drawing. Over the years, discovery and experimentation have become a way of life, making Carmelle Dorion an accomplished artist of explosive sensitivity.

Carmelle Dorion's works have a unique, recognizable style,
but without a theme that sets her apart from the crowd.
Carmelle Dorion is a fundamentally spontaneous artist,

ARTISTIC APPROACH.
My art expresses itself through a wide variety of media (acrylic, ink...) and techniques (collage, sfumato...). In addition, the diversified use of materials allows me to explore other universes in both two- and three-dimensional ways, to discover the unknown. I plunge into the creative process in search of my true nature, in order to deepen my knowledge of myself and observe better. I want to surprise others, to question them, to touch them, to make them question themselves. I'm fascinated by the unexpected and improvisation, and I'm driven to surpass myself. My work is based on research, exploration and creation. I don't want to reproduce reality, but to make the imperceptible felt.

Music inspires my creations. Like visual art, this medium is based on the search for the rhythm produced by an abstract, mathematical construction: a construction that is imperceptible to the eye, but which we know is essential to the final composition. My thinking manifests itself through colors and shapes, whatever the medium. Since the known is reassuring, my work is semi-abstract, because there's always a reassuring element that we relate to the real. While remaining uncluttered, my works deliver their messages by tending towards abstraction. The pictorial treatment is fluid and often delivered in transparency. I paint with the spontaneity of a child. Art gives me freedom and helps me to remain authentic and free my emotions.

The dynamism of colored tones is mixed with more sober tones. Blue and violet and their shades, gradations and contrasts predominate in my work... I remain conscious of the impact of color on the eye, and I fully embrace it. Over the years, my colors have softened, becoming closer to the child in me.

I want my works, through their depth, to help people evolve. Through the interiority they exude, I want them to reach out to people at different levels, depending on their experience. My search for the absolute will give a deeper meaning to my work, while challenging my own knowledge.

The subjects I choose are not premeditated, but are drawn from my imagination; I exploit them without barriers except those imposed by the medium I use.

Art is part of the survival of my soul, of my being. It enables me to remain balanced, to make truths and emotions more concrete and reassuring. My painting gives me emotional security. I've always felt the need to understand things, to go beyond what's seen and felt.
To create in order to be, to create in order to breathe, to create in order to remain.
