Y.G. Marsolais

A lifelong painter, specializing in painting and drawing in oil, acrylic and pastels, I am very much inspired by nature and so mostly paint landscapes, often trees and forest.  Although, I've studied art and painting more formally throughout the years, I've evolved as a mostly self-taught artist and I have learned by experimentation and observing the techniques of other artists that I like.

I currently live and work in the Annapolis valley of Nova Scotia, back to where I was born. It's an inspiring landscape, and the ocean is all around. I'm looking forward to creating and showing many works inspired by this beautiful place.

I'm also a professional artisan in stained glass, creating and restoring works for residential, commercial and public architectural integration.

My work has been bought by collectors in my native Canada and internationally in the U.S., and Costa Rica where I lived for 20 years.
