About the work

In this painting I made my then dog Java looking at a painting from the American Southwest. The setting was as if it is in a gallery and this is another painting where Java was immortalized. I was a little self-indulgent in this work since I figured I might as well give my own art an audience - in this case my dog Java.

Dans cette peinture, j’ai fait en sorte que mon chien d’alors Java, regarde fixement une peinture du Sud-Ouest américain. Le décor était comme s’il se trouvait dans une galerie et c’est un autre peinture où Java a été immortalisé. J’ai été un peu complaisant dans cette œuvre, car je me suis dit que je pouvais tout aussi bien donner un public à mon propre art – dans ce cas, mon chien Java.
