About the work

I love the contrast that this greylag goose grooming her feathers creates against the blue sky in the background. Whenever I paint an animal, I like to learn more about them–their habitats, what they eat, interesting facts about them, etc. The flocks of greylag geese can be of different sizes up to thousands of individuals, which in flight assume the typical “V” formation. They are exceptional flyers and communicate with each other with a wide range of vocalizations. This is one of my original acrylic paintings that I did on a gallery wrapped canvas. All the sides and edges are finished, and it doesn't require framing. It will arrive ready to hang.
