With Mama's Donuts, I continue the palm series because I continue to be in awe of the strong Palm trees in our beautiful environment which struggle yet survive among the clutter in our field of vision. The endless blue sky, warm sunshine and countless signage are just some of the things we remember on roadtrips especially in southern California. Nostalgia is something we all have in common and I want to bring into your home a little piece of the sunshine and memories to make you smile and reflect. I also like to toy with reality. We know the sky is not green yet we can relate to the feeling it represents. With Mama's there is one more layer. Take a look at Donut's&Coffee (below taken in 2010). I've kept the composition the same to highlight the change from the humble cozy corner to a generic sign. I've photographed this unnoticeable sign to trigger a Desire mixed with nostalgia which fuels the allure to be in that moment and to participate in the scene.
