About the work

The Blueberry Bramble is a drink I have never had before, but I was drawn to the colors of it, but more importantly the coldness of the drink. I had not made a drawing of a drink made from ice and the glass itself was sweating and freezing at the same time. Along with the coldness the colors in the drink acting much different than any other drink, instead of blending together they were splotchy. Lastly, the dried fruit was a challenge I had never tried to draw before so I wanted to try it. During the time drawing this drink I really felt it was me and the drawing I was not worried about anything else, no stress interrupted me during this process. I focused heavily on the drink itself first to get the dimensions, colors, also the glass designs and the colors reflecting and refracting from it, then fanned out to the ice and fruits up top then to the leaves and fruits at the bottom. Finally, the board was challenging with all the different colors and markings in it.
