About the work

During the pandemic, this tree from Mori Point in Pacifica became a memorial for the lives lost, but eventually it was torn down because it was not sanctioned by San Francisco Parks. In the past few months, the memorial has reappeared and is being rebuilt slowly. It is not as big as it was before, but the rocks, wood, and picture memorials have returned. It is a beautiful dedication to past loved ones.

I also love how this tree is wind blown, but is solidly rooted to the earth through all the storms it has encountered. This tree shows how resilient it is and a reflection of how we, too, can be resilient through all the storms of life that are thrown at us.
