About the work

This is a church on the Island of Sao Miguel, in the Acores. Sao Miguel is 1 of 9 islands that make up the Acores. The Acores are in the Atlantic Ocean, located between Europe and North America.

There are many churches on Sao Miguel and many resemble each other. This particular church is in Ponta Delgada, the largest city on the Island. The church is named Igreja Mae de Deus (mother of god).
