About the work
What a pleasure to paint these six beautiful pears! They are bathed in a bright light to add an element of high drama to the whole image and sit proudly together, united like a strong family leaning into to each other for love and support. Their muted colours, red, green and yellow are enhanced by the rich dark background which shows off the curves and forms of these perfect pears.
