The Embrace (more details below)
"The strength of a man isn't seen in the power of his arms. It's seen in the love with which he embraces you."
- Steve Maraboli, Unapologetically You: Reflections on Life and the Human Experience
The embrace
"A man's strength is not shown by the strength of his arms. You can see it in the love with which he embraces you."

(Un)Masked!
I see photography as a means to reveal hidden truths and potentials. My portraits seek to show my subject as she's never before been seen...perhaps as she's never before seen herself. I strive not to copy what has already been done, but to unveil and release the individual from the bonds of convention and the limits of social expectation.
The images from my series "(Un)Masked!" plays with our perceptions of people by selectively revealing or hiding portions of the model's face...or showing her in the process of stripping away the mask that she has been wearing.
We go about our daily lives wearing a cloak, a veil, a mask. We reveal only a portion of our being to family, friends, acquaintances and strangers. Yet inside each of us exists many different manifestations...where hidden personalities hold dreams and desires we never reveal to anyone - maybe not even to ourselves.
The (Un)Masked! series of photographs seeks to lift that veil by paradoxically hiding a portion of the subject's face. By hiding certain features with shadow, fabric, paint, found objects and fabricated masks the way we see that person is altered...and the subject is liberated from the face she shows to the world every day. She becomes free to express facets of her being that may have been repressed or taboo: whose qualities range from innocence to sultriness, from mysteriousness to candor, from strength to submissiveness, from introspection to courage.
Resistance (printed on acid-free metallic art archival paper).
"They tried to bury me, but they didn't know I was a seed."
