Vladimir Kolosov has quite strong mathematical background and some of his artworks are related to certain areas of mathematics. In particular this piece was inspired by fuzzy sets theory proposed by Lofti A. Zadeh in 1965. (Fuzzy sets include the membership function and used to describe the elements to which the binary rule "yes/no" or "0/1" doesn't work). Interesting fact that fuzzy sets can be used to reflect gender-fluid people in all their variety. Knowing that artist applied fuzzy set theory for transgender transformation.
