For me, this is about life in a fishing family. There is a constant awareness of 'they are home' or 'they are away'. And silence during the weather forecast.

The arching blue line is the protection of the harbour. Here I mean a metaphorical harbour but it so happens that in my home village the harbour does have this embracing shape.

The collage uses acrylic paint on acid-free tissue paper. The tissue has been adhered to 290g watercolour paper with Golden soft gel medium and given a final layer of protection with Golden UV satin varnish.
