"The Lonely Planet series" is inspired by the Space Race era. I'm a 90s kid, and my dad and I were sci-fi nerds; we love Star Wars, Star Trek…etc.
That sci-fi culture has influenced me a lot, bringing me the path to what I'm doing for my career today.
I have always believed that time and university are like a loop (this is why it has so many circle elements in this painting; the moon and planets represent the loop). Based on the law of conservation of energy, whatever decision we make will create another branch of the timeline and universe, so there will always be another version of ourselves with a different life that we never have a chance to experience.
Also, we all knew we would leave this world one day, and we couldn't take anything with us, so why not leave something for the world or the universe?
So the man who is standing there looking at the moon and thinking, "We never know what brings us after making a decision, and we are all gonna die one day, so why not do something good so people will remember my name or records that I had to exist this world before when I pass away."
That person is me, and this is the motivation that keeps me doing art so that if I die one day, people will still see my works and inspire or cure them.
