About the work

I wanted to tell you the story of my grandfather, whom I never knew. The year 2021 gave me the gift of receiving his photo, and in order to get to know him better, I had to paint him without knowing his first name or his life.
After transforming him into an eternal work of art in my memory and in that of those who knew him well. It's been a great joy to share my painting with my family, whom I've met again with great pleasure. The exchanges are profound, and I've noticed so much inherited wisdom. And my grandfather, who was present when I painted him, passed on to me the story of his life, and today I know his first name, Alexandre, and I continue on my way thinking of his soul, to tell him to be at peace. And above all, to say thank you to him and to everyone.
