About the work
Floating, rising, these efforts to break free hit unseen forces. And stagnate. The frozen bubbles on Lake Abraham as painted from the beautiful work of photographer Darwin Wigget, with his permission.
This artwork is painted with molten beeswax mixed with damar resin (tree sap) and raw pigments, fused together with the fire of a blowtorch.
The original artwork has a black floater frame, leaving the wax surface open for viewing.
