For as long as I can remember, I've loved drawing and painting. As a teenager, my uncle taught me to draw still lifes with a pen. My first watercolors date back to this period.

In my twenties, I began by taming oil paint. Then I experimented with watercolours. Its impulsive nature and speed of execution immediately appealed to me. For me, mastering water and the power and transparency of pigments are captivating challenges.

Family life forced me to put my art on hold for some twenty years. Retired since January 2017, I now devote more time to my art. I work a lot from photos taken during my various travels. The shots are always taken with a future painting in mind. City scenes, people's daily lives, different cultures and landscapes inevitably find their way into my work. My travels continue through my brushes.

Eliminating superfluous details to bring out the essential of the scene is the guide to my inspiration. To take people on a journey through my work, to evoke good memories and emotions, and to make others dream, is the essence of my artistic approach.
