Anne René de Cotret "ARdeCotret"

Born in Trois-Rivières, Qc, Canada. A self-taught multidisciplinary painter, she discovered her passion for art in her teens. She took charcoal, drawing and gouache classes with painters Léo Ayotte and Marcel Bellerive, in their St-Rock-de-Mékinac studio.
For several years, the artist explored different ways of working with acrylics. From marouflaging tissue paper on canvas to applying structural mortar, collages and other textural effects, the artist completely changed technique in 2012 when one of her aunts gave her tubes of oil paint and spatulas to paint with...
It was 'instant love at first sight', as if these two mediums had been waiting for her for a long time! Painting was already a passion, but from that moment on it became an essential need.
Anne René de Cotret draws her inspiration from the poetry of the natural world around her. The artist is somewhere between figurative and impressionistic. Her aim is to develop an increasingly refined style, reflecting freedom, calm, joie de vivre or simply to immortalize a moment in life, a memory.
The artist has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions, as well as several salons and symposiums, including the most important: Honorary President 2016 of the Symposium Ô Couleurs de l'automne du Moulin Michel de Gentilly; Maison Rodolphe Duguay, Nicolet 2014; Maison Rodolphe Duguay Solo 2018; Galerie d'Art-Culture, Sherbrooke 2014; Collection Loto-Québec, Victoriaville 2011; Salon des Artisans, Trois-Rivières 2010; Centre des Arts de Shawinigan, 2009-10-11;
Many of his works are in private collections in Canada and the United States.

The artist won the Coup de cœur du public award at the "Rendez-vous des Peintres" in Nicolet, Qc 2013.
