Belal Jurewa

Belal Jurewa is a Syrian-Canadian Artist, Architect, art instructor and Craftsman. Alongside his architectural professional career, he practiced all kinds of visual arts and crafts in pursuit of better understanding the relationship between art and architecture. Through his exploration of shapes, colors, light, nature and the daily lives of people, his work focuses on his general impressions of places and people, ideas and notions, and the abstract world. His art is a nonstop endeavor of experimentation as he utilizes every possible material and medium available to him. From physical mediums such as woodwork, stained glass, ink and doodles on paper, and various paints on canvas to digital art and graphic design, Belal Jurewa continues his journey into the boundless world of visual art. His work been displayed in several galleries and art exhibitions in Damascus, Syria and Toronto, Canada and is owned by private collectors in North America, Europe and the Middle East. Starting in 2013, he is a full time artist and private art teacher in his studio located in Oakville, Ontario, Canada.
