Blaine White

I try to capture slices of contemporary life and render them in a compelling way. My racial background is black, white and some indigenous though I can't say how much this influences my work. I began with an interest in the old masters and I now am influenced by current realist artists. I studied under John Angel who now runs a school in Florence. Most of my work is done in oils and I like to explore variations of colour. I have rendered historical figures; politicians and images from the cinema and theatre.

I have been painting on and off for 30 years and am currently looking at Canadian wildlife as subject matter. My artistic exhibitions have been included in galleries and online in Milan, Italy, the United States and Canada. The work is found in collections in Toronto, Detroit, Toledo OH, Belleville and Windsor.
