In 2013, Carine Génadry decided to move to the countryside of Lanaudière, Québec.
The fast and loud urban life, combined with her growing awareness of global issues led to an urgent desire to return to nature and feel more connected. Carine’s new work is inspired both by her natural surroundings and by the work of contemporary artists such as Rebecca Haines, Linda Kemp and Peter Pharoah, whose expressive and spiritual animal paintings have influenced her own.
In 2007, Carine completed her diploma in Art Education, at Concordia University. There, she solidified her artistic skills as well as fostering a growing interest in ceramics and photography. Since then, her creativity has been an important ally in guiding and helping those she works with, whether through art or social integration.
As an art educator, Carine attended many art education seminars. During one of these, in Trois Rivieres, she participated in a monotype workshop, where she learned a new method and process of printmaking. This monoprinting technique triggered a renewed exploration and evolution of her style, and she has found in its wide range of possibilities, a new freedom and pleasure.
