As a retired interior designer with a career in the downtown, high paced world of corporate real estate in Toronto, I began to paint to release and activate the creativity that was buried for so long. I love exploring and pushing the boundaries of the materials.

I am drawn to colours, shapes and designs that remind me of meaningful experiences, memories, and my favorite places. Seeking clarity through layers of acrylic & mixed media, I uncover something new based on images and emotions from deep within my soul. I invite the viewer to discover their interpretation of my work, perhaps bringing back their own memories and experiences.

I am active in the art scene, as an annual participant in outdoor art fairs like Riverdale ArtWalk, ArtWalk Square, Queen West ArtCrawl, ArtFest in Kingston (2022), Stouffville Art in the Park, Cabbagetown Arts & Crafts, Bayview Studio Tour, North Toronto Group of Artists and in online shows as well as gallery shows at Leslie Grove Gallery. Carolyn is also the Vice-Chair of Artists' Network Board of Directors and was instrumental in working with the City of Toronto to secure a subsidized permanent home in Leslieville for the organization.
