Catherine S. Adamson Art Biography
Catherine Adamson, of Vancouver, B.C., holds a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts and English Literature from the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) (2003). While there, she held a solo exhibition in the university’s gallery with 50 works of art. To date, the university has purchased eight of her original paintings to grace their walls.
With her ‘free-flow’ method she allows the paint to flow freely from the end of a stick and down onto a prone canvas. Building layers of colour, she creates texture and an intriguing depth within her paintings that viewers find exciting.
Catherine has participated in many solo and juried exhibitions in and around Vancouver and Maui for the past fifteen years, winning several awards along the way. She has sold over 500 pieces to date, and is well on her way to becoming one of Vancouver’s best-known artists in demand for commissioned work. She was recently commissioned to paint three large paintings for the new Acute Care Tower in B.C. Children’s Hospital.
Painting is Catherine’s passion; her paintings often evoke strong emotions in the viewer, and for Catherine, this spells true success.
