Cécile

Cécile is a visual artist from Martinique.

Based in Montreal since 2004 and in Quebec City since 2022, she works mainly in painting, drawing and multisensory installations.

From an early age, she distinguished herself by her atypical profile as a girl who excelled in science, particularly mathematics, and by her passion for building collections of exceptional objects.

Cécile's first artistic steps were singular, forged by observing her father's meticulous cabinet-making and sewing.

Despite graduating with an engineering degree, Cécile embarked on a career in entrepreneurship in 2005, first with a women's training center and then with an expanding commercial real estate business. In her quest for creative freedom, Cécile draws strength from personal and spiritual development to meet the stimulating challenges of this new adventure.

After her achievements in business, Cécile decided to devote herself entirely to art. She joins the demanding faculty of the École des Beaux-Arts de Montréal (2018-2022), where she refines her techniques and affirms her lush style.

The free expression of femininity, spirituality, maternity, sensory exploration and nature are all themes that guide the artist's production of "talisman works".
