DaBy

DaBy is a painter and sculptor. She paints mainly in acrylic, often in mixed media, adding various materials: structural mortar, epoxy resin, gold leaf, sand, concrete, on canvas or wood supports.

As a sculptor, after having approached sculpture through bronze and aluminum casting, she now produces a different kind of sculpture, conceived with an eco-responsible approach, where she recycles various materials, often left over from renovations or drawn from nature, and gives them a new life and an artistic vocation.

These sculptures come in four series: "Wood and Nature", "Wild Wood", "In Color" and "Style...", some of which are available in the boutiques of several Quebec museums.

She is most often inspired by the shapes, colors and textures she finds.

Simply seeking "the gold of time and the beauty of things" as the poet sings, it's the joy of creating that motivates her.

Her quest continues to be that of harmony, and is focused on the positive emotion, joy and serenity that art brings her, and which she hopes can also be transmitted to the viewer.
