Diane Morneau

Diane Morneau grew up and raised her family on Montreal's South Shore. In 1988, she took her first oil painting classes with a painter who applied the approach of the Grand Masters. More recently, she has been experimenting with abstract painting, acrylics and black canvas, in both small and large formats. Her works often feature wild animals. Her aim is to show the beauty and precariousness of our world, to encourage efforts to protect and preserve it.

She loves producing polyptychs and combining figurative and abstract art: figurative to represent the subject and abstract to focus attention on the subject.

Because a painting stays with us for many years, she prefers to create a positive mood in her works. The "Soins maternels" series focuses on parental relationships that foster the transmission of knowledge and lead to better-equipped generations.
