Gilbert Lessard

Gilbert Lessard started painting at a very young age representing his school at the annual art competitions at the Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto. He won first prize three times. He is presently an active member of Artistes Hudson Artists Association. There is presently a banner up in front of the City Hall of Hudson depicting an old steam train in front of the station as it was 150 years ago. Works of art by Gilbert Lessard have been purchased by art overs around the globe, including Autralia, UK, USA Italy, Canada. Most of the art works are done using high quality oil paints, in a realistic manner. Landscapes remain his favourite, along with vintage automobiles with all their shining chrome parts. His works have stopped many in their tracks, making them gaze longingly at the scene that is in front of them. Many of them remember wonderful past memories and easier times. Gilbert Lessard's paintings have also been included in articles in 'Your Local Journal', an English weekly newspaper.
