Jules Morissette

Nature is my main source of inspiration. It touches me with its light, the harmony of its colors and its vastness. I like to feel integrated into this immensity and that is why my privileged subjects are the river and the mountains.

My intention is to recreate the emotion I feel in front of a particular landscape or context, without limiting myself to the constraints of figurative realism. The majority of my works are done in acrylic on canvas, in color or monochrome.

With a more intimate approach, I let my subconscious express itself in the creation of my monochrome works. The realization here is strongly influenced by sumi-e, a Japanese art characterized by the relative stripping of the composition.
