Coming from the Beauce region, she is part of a family that demonstrates that learning about culture begins at home. Music, literature and visual arts were present at all times.
She made a career in high school teaching but has been pursuing her artistic quest since 1984. She started in oil with Hugues Voyer and Hans Peter Beer, followed by acrylic training with Lise Marsan, dry pastel portrait with Michel BĂ©langer, and then discovered watercolor with Sophie Paquet, Chantal Angers, Olivier Toupin and Diane Boilard. It was in 1993 that she decided to pursue a certificate in visual arts from UQTR. She studied under Lucienne Cornet, Richard Normandin and Jean Letarte among others.
For more than 30 years Louise has participated in several group exhibitions and various solo exhibitions, in numerous symposiums, and her works can be found in several private collectors. Some of these works can be found in Ontario, Manitoba, the United States and France. She also had the chance to exhibit in Lisieux, France in 2004. She is the instigator of the Circuit des Bancs des LĂ©gendes project in the MRC Robert-Cliche in 2017, a project bringing together seven Beauce artists to paint 10 public benches on which we find an original legend of each municipality.
In terms of her professional artistic activities, she has been a member of the board of directors of Artistes et Artisans de Beauce, sits on the committee of the Cultural Fund of the MRC Robert-Cliche, is a member-friend of the Marius Barbeau Museum, has been listed in the Guide de Roussan, Peintres du Québec, from 2000 to 2002 and in the directory of the symposium de Peinture website as well as in the publication Plumes et Pinceaux 2015, and more recently in the children's book L'enfant au sac à dos by Sophie Ruel and in 2020 in the poetry book Je vibre au tempo de... by Éditions mptresart with the work Rayon X. She is also associated with Le Galeriste, a Montreal-based stylist, which creates clothing collections inspired by the works of artists.
