Artistic approach

Born by the ocean, I've always been captivated by the incessant oscillation of the waves. My gestures are imbued with strong colors and brimming with energy. Driven by this passion since childhood, I pass on my vision of life.

The waltz of colors I apply to my canvas is inspired by the multiple waves of light on the ocean. They are innumerable. The blues of the day, the yellows and oranges of a sunset, fire and water are in eternal motion. I remain hypnotized by the power of this rainbow of colors, which I find in the pigments and textures of paint.

I've been exposed to several schools of thought, which have led me to combine different techniques and brought out different aspects of my personality. Sometimes my formal, figurative side, applying the paint in thin, translucent layers with a brush, sometimes my informal, rebellious side, thanks to the vibrations of the spatula and knife with which I deposit the paint on the canvas. Like a powerful ocean wave breaking on the beach and mixing with the grains of sand, I apply the colors to the canvas with force and impasto. I like to flirt between acrylic and oil, although I prefer oil paint, which I find more malleable and sensual. Like the to-and-fro of the wave pounding the shore, I lay down my paint until I feel that little extra something that makes all the difference. The multiple transformations of the environment have an ever-present impact on my work, since water is part of my universe.

In the spring of 2014, a new adventure began. The fusion of my passions, painting and scuba diving. How could I find myself at the bottom of the water, immortalizing the environment and energy of different dive sites? I painted pictures in the lakes of Quebec, the blue of the Mediterranean, the crystal-clear waters of the Pacific and the wonders of the Caribbean Sea. In this way, I've witnessed the beauty of the seabed and the pollution that settles there.

I've committed myself to helping raise awareness by offering a series of exhibitions and conferences on the importance of the environment and water preservation.
