Maryse Harvey or the co(s)mic woman
The first time we see it, it's as if we were in front of a UFO and we were looking for the door to enter. It's smooth. It looks silly on the hoist.
Suddenly we understood that we just have to ask her, the door opens on a sympathetic and imaginative woman whose tortuous life course obeys a logic that she is the only one to understand. In addition, although she is covered with lots of useless diplomas, Maryse is not pretentious for 5 cents.
To give you an idea of this very personal logic, Maryse started with a bachelor's degree in visual arts and a graduate degree in artist book publishing. Personal and professional accomplishments that followed include a graduate degree in post-secondary education, teaching acting and arts and crafts to toddlers, creating faux finishes for store decor, and working as a paper clerk. and boxes at Omer De Serre. Sprinkle all this with a few minor jobs such as participation in the design of parts of hats for the Cirque du Soleil, the creation of the cover page of a novel by Élise Poudrier as well as participation in an artists' center and you have the basic ingredients of the recipe.
As for the condiments to add at the end of cooking, Maryse experienced, a few years ago, the call of earth and wood, after 2 generations. In the countryside, she raised chickens and cultivated a huge vegetable garden while completing a cabinetmaking course and a business start-up course. Eggs and vegetables weren't enough, she ended up being transformed into a home helper for beautiful people, then was a janitor in a hospital before being in a school where her art was for a time translated into pretty arabesques that she made with her mop.
At this point, did you say to yourself, "Poor woman! She doesn't seem to know where she's going in life." And that's where you're wrong. All this contributes to her artisanal and artistic production. What she has experienced and what she knows are intertwined in a joyous mess that feeds her abundant imagination.
And that's what I invite you to discover in the co(s)mic world of Arts-V!
