Emerging, self-taught artist, age 50. Native of Acton Vale, lives in Marieville. I studied construction drawing for 1 ½ years, which didn't suit me because I don't like being stuck in a mold. I crave freedom, and painting gives me that. 5 years ago, life decided to shake me up a bit. So I had a rethink. I went back to finish high school, I graduated in April 2019, and I'm proud of it. As for drawing, I've always drawn. As a child, I loved to draw and color innocently, but it wasn't until I was a teenager that it really came in handy. It was my own way of expressing myself and letting off steam, and it's still the same today! I love photography, music and reading. I read a lot of biographies (painters from the 19th and 20th centuries). I like to get to know, through reading, a little piece of the lives of people I haven't had the chance to meet; artists are fascinating.
My approach
I'm not an art student, so my quest is never-ending. I have a great thirst for learning, in a free context. My head is full of projects. I'm passionate about discovering new techniques, colors and textures. Abstract art is my domain, because my creations are instinctive, full of emotion and imagination. I work in several media (ink, watercolor, oil, etc.), but acrylic is my main working medium. Recycled objects appeal to me more and more. What I paint is what I feel about my surroundings and what makes me tick. Playing with textures and colors is an integral part of my process, and sometimes I like to add objects to create more impact. Discovering new techniques and products is one of the great pleasures of creating.
I'm currently in the process of becoming a professional... So stay tuned!

For me, art is my freedom of expression, and what fascinates me most is the way in which each person perceives the same work in very different ways.

"What are you saying in your work? That's not cheating. An artist's true identity is his work."
-Marcelle Ferron
