Born in 1975 in Lachine, Quebec, I have lived in the Richelieu Valley for over 30 years and Otterburn Park for 19 years. My father having studied Fine Arts and being a plastic arts teacher, I grew up in an environment where artistic expression dominated. From an early age, shapes, colors, and drawing are part of my life. I would even say more: they are necessary for my balance.
My influences: Norval Morrisseau, Miro, Adèle Blais and the humorous side of sculptor Patrick Amyot led me to discover my true passions: figurative art, curves, and amusing painting. Together, they become paintings with unique curves, vibrant colors where emotion passes within the subject.
I use mixed media. I get my colors by layering acrylic paints and patterned papers that I glue on my supports. The materials used create depths and textures that I highlight with varnish or epoxy.
Each painting represents for me the start of an adventure. I see it as a way of sharing my joie de vivre and my love of creation.
