Nazanin Sepandram was born in Tehran, Iran in 1981. Her main area of interest is culture, society, and integration with emphasis on fundamental elements forming the modern cultures and societies in the world. In her artistic practice, the art of illustration and painting are combined by mixed media on canvas to highlight the cultural and traditional elements which are significantly influential on social behavior. To date, she has created several artworks with the theme of Mother Land -Immigration – Eve and Here I am collection. In the former series, it was shown that, amid all challenges, cultural elements such as motherland's soul can bring peace and integrity in each country and protect it from any harm. She has symbolized these elements in her artwork and called them “Mother Land”. The aim of this set of artwork was to raise hope and spirits in her people and all the people in the world. In the other theme, Immigration, the emphasis was on the beauty of integration with different cultures. In these five paintings, it was shown that Farvahar, as one of the best-known symbols of ancient Iran (Persia) and Zoroastrianism, carries a part of her culture blending it into the new cultural elements of the host country through immigration. In Eve's collection she shows the love and passion that she already knows from her background and mixes it to the new world that she recently came to . Finally in the last collection (Here Iam ) in the coronavirus time she tries to capture the beauty in mundane objects and the routine lifestyle. She believes in this period of time, finding the beauty in our lives is more important than ever. And a simple medium helps her to express it more.
Nazanin earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in illustration in 2014 with a strong background in graphic design. Nazanin has participated in more than 10 solo and group exhibitions including second annual exhibition of Mohtasham Award, Niavaran Cultural Center Public Gallery (Tehran, 2014), solo exhibition of Mother Land in Touba Gallery-Time Museum (Tehran, 2015), 2nd international exhibition by Ziya Art Center through Neekon Festival, At De Young Museum (San Francisco, 2015), and group exhibition named “A world at peace” in Queen Gallery (Toronto, 2016). She has also published a few of her works in the annual graphic book of Baban Publishing (3rd edition, 2016, www.baban.ir).
Nazanin immigrated to Canada in 2016 and currently lives in Toronto, Aurora . Canada is a unique country in the world in her eyes with regards to multiculturalism and creation of a peaceful harmony between different nationalities. This has provided her with an exceptional opportunity to study the effect of cultural elements on social cohesion and reflect them in her artworks. Nazanin has spent more than a decade developing her style in demonstrating cultural/traditional elements in different media. In the current collection, she has displayed

mixed cultural elements on clothing and fabric aiming to display the beauty of traditional and cultural elements even in today’s life.
