Nic Rage

Nic Rage takes us into a world of color, form and reflection. Straddling stories, tales, mythologies, dreams and personal experience, Rage's work explores the creation of geometric forms between POP art, figurative and abstract art. He creates characters, faces, animals, naked bodies and sometimes even superheroes.
His works are marked by a palpable intensity, yet remain mysteriously veiled. Fascinated by universal symbols and their meanings, Rage uses them as anchor points to elaborate a dreamlike, chaotic universe. His work necessarily draws on the artist's personal unconscious, but is also part of the vast sphere of the collective unconscious.
Rage's pictorial exploration extends to his choice of materials. He mixes acrylic paint and structural mortar with pastel, oil paste and richly colored oil pencils. His materials are complemented by brush, spatula, finger, airbrush and aerosol application techniques.
