Samuel Véronneau is a Canadian artist born in Quebec in 1987 in Laval. At the age of two, his parents moved to the countryside in the eastern townships and he was quickly fascinated by the nature that surrounded him. Instinctively he transmits what amazes him on paper and will never stop drawing. He began studying visual art but was disappointed by the program's lack of academic and figurative content. He then became interested in digital art but felt a void and a lack of freedom and did not see his life in the city spending behind a computer. The little boy whose imagination had been marked by the stories of the conquest of the west and the coureurs des bois resurfaces in him. He responds to this call of the forest by completing studies in wildlife protection at La Tuque where he revives his passion for nature. His work leads him to travel all the territories of the hinterland where he is inspired by landscapes and numerous encounters with wildlife. He takes turns in the role of guardian of territories, guardian of rivers and forest technician. It is the soul nourished by all his experiences that he returns to the studio to paint during the winter. His job is to protect the resource and his vocation as an artist is to pay homage to it, painting mainly in oils in a rather realistic style. In a world where everything is moving too fast and where ecosystems are threatened in the name of progress, profits and technology, Samuel stands as a guardian of the unchanging beauties of the natural world and of the discipline of the fine arts which give their all. meaning of the word art.
