SQ, a 25-year-old emerging visual artist, embarked on a transformative journey into the world of art in the fall of 2020. Faced with an unexpected shift in his career path away from the music industry, SQ turned to painting as a form of meditation and creative expression. This serendipitous encounter with paint and canvas became a powerful coping mechanism, allowing him to channel his emotions and newfound artistic vision.

Working across a diverse range of mediums, including oils, acrylics, clay, pastels, spray, and found materials, SQ resists categorizing his artistic style. Instead, he finds a home in the uncanny, embracing the fluidity of creativity and the endless possibilities it offers.

SQ's artistic influences are as eclectic as his mediums. Drawing inspiration from visual artists such as John Lurie, Francis Bacon, Kyte Tatt, Picasso, and Szukalski, as well as musical luminaries like The Lounge Lizards, Tom Waits, Ben Folds, and Bowie, his work is a fusion of artistic expressions. SQ's sensitivity to social and political issues further informs his art, transforming it into a powerful tool for activism.

SQ's artistic journey began in Nashville, TN, where he first showcased his work at CË Gallery. After a two year hiatus from social media and public shows, he has begun to release new pieces and will soon be working out of New York City.

His approach to art is deeply emotional, often channeling his passion into anti-capitalist messages and snide social commentary. SQ firmly believes in using art as a vehicle for activism, taking a clear stance against capitalism and Christian fascism.
