Steve Turnbull

Steve is a landscape and portrait painter working in oil. He studied drawing at the Glasgow School of Art and is influenced by a wide range of artists, including Joan Eardley, Winslow Homer, William Wray, Kurt Jackson and many others. His subject matter is a mixture of natural and urban landscapes, and his style is distinctly representational. When it comes to portraiture, he is drawn to the work of Jenny Saville, Lucien Freud and Tai-Shan Schierenberg, and he continually strives to emulate their painterly approach.
