I remember so distinctly as a teen how much I loved the work of illustrators and artists like Frank Frazetta, Richard Corben, Salvador Dali, Olivia De Berardinis, Rene Magritte and others. They could create fantastical, imaginary worlds populated with all manner of men, women and alien creatures - they made the unreal look real, and the real look unreal. I knew almost immediateIy that was the kind of art I wanted to do.

Before pursuing fine art full time I held quite a variety of visual communications-type jobs. They ranged from doing a lot of freelance commercial and illustration art, to managing the Design and Visual Communications Departments of a National Training Center and External Affairs of a large federal agency in Washington D.C.

After many years of working for others I now am fortunate enough to be able to pursue my passion full time. Like the artists I idolized, I paint imaginative realism, fantasy and surrealism. I most often use oils on stretched linen and work from either my studio in Washington DC or in Virginia.

I have an MA degree from the University of Colorado and a BA from the Metropolitan State University of Denver. I have exhibited in juried shows across the country and have had my work published in several magazines. I work from my studios in Washington DC and Virginia, and am an “Artist in Residence” at the Crossroads Art Center in Richmond VA.
