Most of my painting career has been, " crap, that didn't work."Sometimes what you least expect is the greatest lesson. Artists end up finding their balance between fear of failing and the confidence needed to create a successful piece. A lot of people think we are machines that can "whip them up." The truth of it is that we aren't machines. We are just as scared of failing as any one else. The trick is to not be afraid of it. It either works or it doesn't. If it doesn't we ask ourselves why? Then we try something else. Art is not only extremely subjective and personal, but it also means you are brave enough to put yourself on the canvas and maybe even fail a time or two.
