Dan Goorevitch

Born in 1951 in Edmonton with an identical twin brother. A sister followed. My father died at 32 and my mother followed five years later. I was brought up Oliver! style, in a British boarding school. Painting was my door to bring out all I thought had been trapped inside me forever. It is my freedom and my discovery. I create a space for the imagination. I try to stay between chaos and order to uncover unconscious material that would evade conscious searches to create a more accurate depiction of what it feels like to be alive.

Né en 1951 à Edmonton avec un frère jumeau identique. Une sœur a suivi. Mon père est mort à 32 ans et ma mère a suivi cinq ans plus tard. J'ai été élevé Olivier ! style, dans un pensionnat britannique. La peinture était ma porte pour faire ressortir tout ce que je pensais avoir été emprisonné en moi pour toujours. C'est ma liberté et ma découverte. Je crée un espace pour l'imagination. J'essaie de rester entre le chaos et l'ordre pour découvrir du matériel inconscient qui échapperait aux recherches conscientes pour créer une représentation plus précise de ce que l'on ressent en vivant.
