Karla Greene (Magnusson) was born on October 14th, 1977, into a family of artistic and creative people who have expressed their talents in many ways: sewing, needle work, carpentry, design and art. Her parents and grandparents on both sides of the family and her siblings have all been known for their creative talents.

As for Karla, she has always been interested in art even as a child. She loved her art classes, especially in high school and excelled in her ability to express herself through art.

As a single mom of three small children, Karla’s love of art was put on hold for several years. Her responsibility to provide for her children led her to a career in nursing which she has kept her very busy.

That career in nursing, interestingly enough, has also once again awakened that love of drawing and creating pieces of art. Karla was assaulted by a patient while working on an acute psychiatric unit. Her injuries included a broken foot and torn leg muscle. During her extended time of recuperation after being diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD); she began her journey back to art. Her first piece was African Wild Eyes. This piece was inspired by a South African doctor and his beautiful wife, Dr. Lourens and Louwinda Human. She created it to honor their friendship and compassion for the hurting. She worked on this beautiful collage of African creatures and she began to heal emotional, mentally and physically. Since she finished this piece, she has produced other beautiful and meaningful works of art.

She was delighted to be commissioned by a woman who asked her to make a portrait from a picture she had. She did a beautiful job on that painting and looks forward to future opportunities as well.

Karla is back, working as a Registered Nurse; but also firmly committed to furthering her love of art and the peace and fulfillment that it affords in her life.

Karla Greene (Magnusson) nació el 14 de octubre de 1977 en el seno de una familia artística y creativa que expresa sus talentos en diferentes áreas por ejemplo: costura, bordado, carpintería y diseño artístico. Sus padres y abuelos, maternos y paternos así como sus hermanos son muy reconocidos por su creatividad y talento.

Siguiendo los pasos de su familia Karla desde niña mostró un profundo amor e interés por el arte, especialmente en sus estudios a nivel bachillerato donde ella excedió las expectativas y demostró una gran habilidad para expresarse a través del arte.

Siendo madre soltera Karla se vio forzada a poner a un lado su pasión por el arte para dedicarse a sus tres hijos. la responsabilidad de proveer y cuidar de su familia llevaron a Karla a dedicarse a la profesión de enfermera la cual sigue ejerciendo en la actualidad.

De manera muy inusual e interesante la profesión de enfermera despertó en Karla nuevamente la pasión por el arte esto debido a un desafortunado incidente donde ella fue atacada por un paciente mientras trabajaba en el área de psiquiatría, el incidente dejo a karla con un pie y músculo rotos. Durante su recuperación Karla fue diagnosticada con estrés post traumático (TEPT) y fue allí donde Karla inicio su travesía de regreso al arte.

Su primera pieza de arte llamada “African Wild Eyes” fue inspirada por el doctor sudafricano Lourens Human y su bella esposa Louwinda, esta obra de arte fue creada para honrar su amistad y compasión por los que sufren. Mientras Karla trabajaba en esta colección de hermosas figuras africanas inicio su proceso de recuperación emocional, mental y física. Desde entonces Karla a creado otras interesantes y significativas piezas de arte.

Karla también a creado hermosas piezas de arte a petición, como cuando una mujer le pidió que hiciera una pintura de una fotografía, ella trabajo con gran emoción y entusiasmo en esta obra y el resultado fue hermoso. Karla quedo muy satisfecha que esta buscando futuras oportunidades de repetir la experiencia.

Karla esta de regreso en el campo de enfermería pero también esta completamente comprometida con seguir su amor por el arte y perseguir La Paz y satisfacción en su vida.
