About the work

The reflection that inspired this painting was photographed at Lake Kirkwood, a small lake in the central Sierra Neveda mountains of California. A combination of the geometric shapes of blue and black geometry frame the organic shapes that form the esence of the reflected light in shades of blue, red and green. The concentric rectangel of black forms a focal point, slightly up from the center to an explosion of deep red. It is a stunning study in blue, black, and shades of red.
